Iran Movie Star Boycotts Oscars

Taraneh Alidoosti an Iran actress that was nominated for her role in the film “The Salesman” has boycotted the Oscars. She announced Thursday morning that she would be boycotting the 89th Academy Awards. Her reason was due to President Trump’s “racist” ban on Iran visas she stated on multiple social media platforms “Trump’s visa ban for Iranians and others is a racist move and unacceptable,” she also stated that whether or not this would include a cultural event or not she would not be attending the 2017 Oscars in protest.
