At the first blood drive of the year, Rancho teamed up with the Blood Centers of the Pacific to save over 115 lives. 71 students registered to save lives by donating their blood, but unfortunately only 39 were able to. 32 students were turned down due to illness and iron levels, making it dangerous for them to donate. Each student that donates saves about 3 adults lives, or 4 children’s lives with their blood donations.
Our school is proudly the leading blood donor high school in all of the North Bay, and the only school to offer a red honor chord at graduation for students who donate 6 or more times.
The next blood drive is December 1st so make sure to register to donate blood and save a life!
