Mrs. Scardina Saves a Life

On September 2nd, Mrs. Scardina was called from her everyday work to help a boy in distress. During 5th period, in Mrs. Henrich’s room, a boy was experiencing a near-death seizure. When questioned, Scardina lists the following steps that she did to save the boy’s life.  “I rolled him over … He was hyper ventilating and I was just trying to get him to calm down and the next thing I know he stopped breathing . I started pumping his heart and he came back. Then the paramedics arrived after that.”

After this situation, now CPR is mandatory for all schools in the Cotati Rohnert Park Unified School District. All teachers are required to do CPR training and learn how to work the auto pulse machines located in all schools. Therefore, hopefully no accident will happen like this again.
